North Hawthorne Station
One July day in 1971....
My father visited HIS father, Uriah P. Smith, at work shortly before
he retired. The following photos are a result of that visit. Years later
the railroad moved all operations down to the Little Ferry yard. Sadly
the station building was burned at a later date, arson was suspected. I
have posted all 18 photos since they each show a little more of the building
and the area surrounding it. Several of my Grandfathers co-workers are
shown near the bottom, and my Dad and Grandfather are seen last.
